Dress for Charity

As announced our 'Dress for Charity' event is beginning  to roll.

All those who are already enjoying their shirts, sweats and jackets by the Urban Fashion Line KOLT dates ZENDOME have made it possible for us to donate to the 'Hippo Water Roller' project.

The rollers where developed in South Africa, the home of our distribution partner ZENDOME Southafrica Ltd, where they are still manufactured following the plans of engineers Pettie Petzer and Johan Jonker. We initially noticed this project during one of the first exhibitions in the 'Eine Welt Netz NRW e.V.' ZENDOME and communicated the use of funding with our customers.

What are they there for? In many parts of Africa mostly women, old people and children are responsible for finding water and have to travel distances of up to 15 km per day to the next river. Then they transport 20kg of water in canisters on their heads (editors note: we at ZENDOME can barely manage the 500m up to our office with a crate of drinks in these temperatures).

With the help of the UV protected 'Hippo Water Rollers' they can now transport larger quantities – up to 90 litres of water – much easier and not as complicated. Rolled along the ground the containers amount to no more than 10 kilograms on level ground and thus prevent unhealthy effects on the back and the entire skeleton as stated by Charles Kerr of the Community of Health and Sanitation.

The 'Hippo Water Roller' is also supported by Nelson Mandela and his wife Graca Machel.

With the help of 'Dress for Charity' we could now provide households in different villages with the 'Hippo Water Rollers'.

We would like to thank you for your trust and will continue the effort!
