Moving Baltic Sea

The mobile Film and Environmental Festival “Moving Baltic Sea 2008” has set off on a sailing ship which is being powered by a great programme and much tailwind.

To be more exact the Baltic Sea: during the months of July and August the festival will be moving between Rostock and St Petersburg showing Short Films for four days at a total of six coastal towns. Here, not only the communication between young film makers is improved, but also environmental issues are discussed actively.

This European Tour is being organized for the third year by Moviemento Berlin. Also on board this time: the ZENDOME.20 Home Edition. Used as a special lounge for information and other services the geodesic dome will be the centre piece of the festival for the guests.

Moving Baltic Sea wants to attract guests with its Short Films from Baltic Countries and also invites representatives from politics, environmental organisations, media and culture. The visitors become protagonists themselves: During the 48 hours film competition young film makers produce their own Short Films and environmental activists exchange ideas in workshops in order to develop utopias and other events.

At the final festive event of the Roadmovie in St Petersburg on the 24th of August the results will be presented and prises awarded. Join us on this “See Quest”.
