Fit and healthy

Mach2 - the initiative started by the Gmünder Ersatzkasse GEK (Health Insurer) and different regional sporting organisations enters its second year in 2008!
Starting in 2007, it successfully moved more than 170.000 people: the Roadshow went on tour through Germany with the completely branded ZENDOME.domescape, communicating the messages ‘move more' and ‘eat right' with the ‘Nutrition Dome' and the ‘Sport Dome'.

Responsible for the construction and deconstruction of the ZENDOME.domescape is the DIMAH Fair + Event GmbH who offer anything ranging from construction work to media and technical services for events and fairs.
We spoke to the project manager Mr Englisch about his experiences constructing the ZENDOME on the road.

Mr Englisch, how many times did you construct and deconstruct the ZENDOME.domescape for the GEK in 2007?
All together we had 26 stations in the whole of Germany. One of which was in Berlin of course, but we were also active in many other states. For the first final construction rehearsal for the two ZENDOME.75M we had the support of the ZENDOME coach - this made it possible for us to manage the work during the end of April and the beginning of November independently.

How long did it take you construct the ZENDOME.domescape?
We are a small team of four people and the entire ZENDOME.domescape was put up within a single day. The construction really is quite simple and once we had handled the ZENDOME.system a couple of times we were able to reduce the construction time to half of what we started with.

What was your experience with the heavy load floor system?
About half the time was needed for the floors; the other half was required for the two ZENDOME.75M.

Last question: Such a tour surely means a lot of pressure - how do you manage?
Well, of course we are right at the source for the energy we need. Good healthy food and a lot of exercise helped us manage these extreme situations relatively healthily and stress free. We not only construct the ‘Nutrition' and ‘Sport Dome', we also realise the message very practically ourselves.
