ZENDOME Africa Ltd
After preliminary discussions with Audri Joao, Operations Director, and Hugo Van Heerden, Sales & Marketing Director, at the recent Soccerex in Johannesburg in November 2007, final discussions at the ZENDOME headquarters in Berlin in February 2008 culminated in the signing of an agreement between ZENDOME and the newly established ZENDOME Africa Ltd.
Based in Johannesburg, South Africa, ZENDOME Africa Ltd will be selling and distributing ZENDOME tents in the Southern African region.
Audri, what makes the ZENDOME so attractive?
“It’s the wonderful design! I saw the ZENDOMES in a brochure and was immediately mesmerized. Later on I had the privilege of actually seeing one in reality. It was a sensational experience – I spent the best part of three days just sitting in the 300m ZENDOME and it was amazing!”
Where do you see the potential for the ZENDOME in Southern Africa?
“There is nothing like it in South Africa and the countries in the greater Southern African region.
ZENDOME is different, it’s unique, it's revolutionary; there is phenomenal interest, everyone who sees the structure the first time can't stop looking at it.
Domes are an integral part of South African culture: there are many dome-shaped huts – most of them constructed of grass - all over the country. The ZENDOME will allow South African clients and their event managers the opportunity to host cocktail parties, galas, conferences, exhibitions, anniversaries, concerts, etc. in a revolutionary geodesic event space!
Prospective buyers who saw the ZENDOME at the recent Soccerex in Johannesburg look forward to utilising the structures during the 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup in South Africa. There will be, however, huge demand for the ZENDOME into the future (and well beyond the World Cup.) South Africa is, for instance, a big and passionate sporting nation; many companies sponsor sports like soccer, rugby, cricket, golf, athletics, motor racing and horse racing; there is huge interest in the ZENDOME in the South African sports industry with clients wanting the ZENDOME branded in it's entirety.”
