We are all astronauts
Following this insight we want to recommend the exhibition of the same name which can be seen until the 18th of September at the Marta Herford, the Museum for Contemporary Furniture Art and Design.
Tomas Saraceno, Ai Weiwei, Olaf Eliasson and 19 other contemporary artists reflect a key figure of the 20th century: Richard Buckminster Fuller. His geometric discoveries, social utopias and his humour inspired fantastic vehicles, moving machines and floating architecture, poetic drawings, elegant cupolas and daring designs. Amongst others, a spectacular replica of his futuristic Dymaxion Car #4.
Curated by Norman Foster and Luis Fernandez Galiano there is also the exhibition “Bucky Fuller & Spaceship Earth” at the same time. Presented are a complete biographical overview of his wide array of work, from the groundbreaking Dymaxion House to the geodesic cupolas. On display are original works by Fuller – photographs, films, drawings, designs, constructions and models.
In addition there are conventions about Buckminster Fuller as part of the “Day of Architecture” at the Marta Forum.
